Sweet and spicy flavors mixed together are just freaking delightful. This honey mango pico de gallo is the definition of de-forkin-lightful.
The spiciness of the salsa mixed with the sweetness of the mango and honey make it near impossible to have just one bite. This makes for a super simple appetizer or side dish with your taco night.

Mango Pico de Gallo the ingredients…
- 5 roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 bunch cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 medium red onion, diced
- 2 Jalapenos, seeded and diced
- 1 mango
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp honey
- salt & pepper to taste
- Depending upon how much spice you like, you can add more/less jalapeno seeds. Start with less, you can always add more.
The recipe…
- Dice tomatoes, red onion, and jalapenos. Add to a large bowl.
- Cut mango and add to bowl.
- Add minced garlic, chopped cilantro, lemon juice, honey, salt & pepper
- Mix well.
- Enjoy!
How to fork it up…
This won’t ruin the recipe per-say… But it most definitely will ruin your whole day. That is jalapeno hands! Basically, the oils from the pepper soak into your pores and BURN. To avoid jalapeno hands, wear gloves! It is SO painful.
I learned this the hard way around the innocent age of thirteen. When I decided I wanted to make salsa from scratch for the first time. I had my mom take me to the grocery store and I got a nice big-ol bag of Serrano peppers. When I got home, I cut up that big ass bag of peppers and added it to my tomatoes etc. Stupidly, I added all the seeds to the dish and was touching them ALL OVER with my grimy little hands.
Fast-forward to getting out of the shower. Literally EVERYTHING burned. I had no idea what was going on. The moral of the story- don’t do that…
Mango Cutting Tip
Check out this super basic trick to cut your mango. Slice as close to the seed, make crosshatching cuts like below, and push the fruit outward. The fruit will then come off very easily!

Ingredients
